| BMC is an established, respected maker of electric motors. This is their internally geared hub motor that allows the motor to spin about 5 times faster than the axle. This has many benefits compared to direct drive hub motors that spin the axle at motor speed. Electric motors are more efficient and torquey when they spin at higher RPMs. This motor has the power of direct drive motors twice its size. It weighs just 9.5 lbs and is only 7.5" in diameter and has the torque to help with steep grades. | Initial Results of Montague Folding E-Bike BMC V2-S, Compact Controller, PING 48v 15ah Battery Patrick, For my one way: 15.2 mi Moving avg spd: 18.5 Max Speed: 35.7 (Okay, I didn’t plan on bursting to that speed, but I was letting a performance road biker draft off me.. he had blast doing that!) Moving Time: 49min Everything works great! I was about half to 2/3 throttle most of the time. I had to put some work into the last hill, but that’s about it. It’s still a great workout I pedaled the entire way. Hidden panniers are very very cool and useful. I’ll charge today at work just to be safe (lazy) but so far I’m just simply loving it.
